Yay and boo-hoo, Sadie Parker is turning 4 on Monday. There isn't any baby-ness to her at all.
I could blog forever about that, so I will wait and do it at a later time.
As for now, here are the pictures from her birthday party we had last Monday, the 19th.
As you all know, SP loves to cook, so we thought that a "cooking/icing" party would be so much fun for her.
And it was.
The tables were a joint effort in decorations. The Cupcakery had all the basics, and I was a little nervous as to what that meant. But when I arrived, I saw that they had purchased the exact same plates and cups that I had wanted to buy, but wouldn't let myself. That was a great surprise!
We brought the balloons, because whats a party without balloons. Which later proved to be great entertainment for Rubes.
Each plate had candy harts, sprinkles, and sugar dots. There was a choice of strawberry and vanilla cupcakes, and strawberry and chocolate icing.
So many choices!
The joy and delight of being sung "happy birthday" to almost did her in.
It took some coaxing, but I was able to get her to eat some of the actual cake part.
Just wanting to lick the butter cream icing off the top.
Who could blame her?

Decorating cupcakes.
I kind of think that while SP loves to cook and put things together in the kitchen, this party might have been better saved for when her friends were a little older. (no, this isn't a "my child is so much more advanced than yours" comment. There are some areas that she definitely is not skilled in, that her friends are proficient in)
There were just more fine motor skills involved than I realized.
SP had a fantastic time, and that was the point.
Mission accomplished in that regard.
Rubes ready to go in her big-girl apron.
Family picture.
Watching through the observation window.
Wishing to be on the inside of all the "fun."

The girls in all their apron glory.
We couldn't quite get them all together enough to fit in one picture, however this is the bulk of them.

The beloved Barbie "vet."
Why she's wearing a blue jean mini-skirt is beyond me.
